Danny Ghitis is a Brooklyn-based photographer. As a kid his family moved around a lot (Colombia - Missouri - Oklahoma - Florida), which set the pace for his sexy adventurous lifestyle. After graduating from the University of Florida in 2006 he worked for a couple of newspapers then sought out a freelance career. He now lives in a building with 13 friends who call themselves the Goddamn Cobras, and works for a variety of clients in the city including The New York Times. He's constantly on the search for interesting strangers and culturally ambiguous spaces to document, both foreign and domestic. When he's not taking pictures he enjoys rock climbing, fresh produce, Judaism, making up words, yoga, and Wes Anderson films. He believes that challenging social norms with satirical imagery can spark the curiosity needed for open dialogue in the average person.

Danny has been recognized by Magenta's Flash Forward, the Nikon Emerging Talent Award, the Hearst Photojournalism Championship, College Photographer of the Year, the National Press Photographers Association, University of Florida's Scholars Program, nominated for UNICEF Photo of the Year, and the Eddie Adams Workshop.
