I got a chance to shoot (albeit only for a couple of songs) the band Hot Hot Heat. I'm a fan of their music so it was interested being in the position of photojournalist. The people in charge of the show wouldn't let me get right up to the stage, in front of the cattle fence holding back all the fans, so I had to push my way through 1,000 college kids. I finally made it front and center, took a few shots, including this one, from about 10 feet from the stage. I then looked at my watch, saw my deadline was approaching, and pushed my way backward through the same crowd of people already pissed off at me from the first offense. This picture was published as a teaser on the cover of the campus edition of The Sun and a wider photo of the whole band was the centerpiece on the campus page.
